The **report builder** (optional feature, off by default) lets you build your own statistics report instead of choosing from predefined views: pick a **measure** (headcount, average salary, median salary, share of women, average tenure) and a **dimension** to break it down by (department, gender, role, location, your own custom fields, and more). Click **Run** to compute it.

**You only ever see your own data.** A report always runs against exactly the data scope you already have — a manager with a limited scope sees their scope, an admin sees the whole company. That applies to a report someone else saved, too: a saved report is only a *definition*, it never carries its creator's permissions.

**Small groups are not shown.** A group with fewer employees than the organization's anonymity threshold shows "Too few employees to show" instead of a value. The row stays in the table with its count — it is deliberately not hidden, because a missing row would itself reveal that the group was small. The threshold is stated under the table so you can see why.

**"Show as it looked on…"** (an optional date) reconstructs how the organization looked at an earlier date. Important: **salary and salary-band values always show the current value**, whatever date you pick. Only department, role, manager, employment type and location are reconstructed historically — those have their own change history in the system, which salary does not in the same way. The notice stays visible in the interface for as long as a date is selected.

**Saving a report:** type a name and click **Save**. Saved reports are shared with the whole organization and can be run or deleted by anyone allowed to see them. Deleting a saved report asks for confirmation and removes the definition for everyone, not just for you.

The report builder only appears in the menu once the feature is enabled for the organization and you have permission to employee data.
