Under Settings → Time & Attendance, an Admin configures the organization's default rules for working hours, annual leave entitlement, and carried-over vacation days. The panel appears only when time tracking is enabled for the organization.

The settings cover three main areas:
- **Default annual vacation days:** The baseline number of paid vacation days a full-time employee earns per year (e.g. 25 days per statutory standard or 28–30 days under collective agreements). This value serves as the default when adding new employees.
- **Carried-over vacation day cap (carry-over cap):** The maximum number of unused vacation days an employee is allowed to carry over from one leave year to the next (e.g. max 5 days). Days exceeding this limit are flagged for payout or expiry at year rollover.
- **Leave year rollover date (Year rollover):** The date on which the leave year resets and carried-over balances are calculated (typically April 1st for statutory Swedish leave year or January 1st for calendar year).

Important to know: Changes to these settings do not retroactively alter already approved or historical leave periods or previously executed year-end rollovers. They apply strictly to future calculations and serve as default values for new hires.

**Work schedules:** In the same panel, an administrator can create templates defining which days/hours an employee is expected to work. Three types exist:
- **Fixed:** the same weekdays and times every week. Can be set as the organization's default schedule.
- **Multi-week:** 1-4 different weekly patterns that rotate in sequence (e.g. "every second Friday off"). Can also be set as default.
- **Flexible:** a fixed number of work days per week, but the hours are derived from the employee's own employment rate (FULL-TIME EQ.) rather than entered on the schedule — so the same template can be reused for both full- and part-time employees. A flexible schedule cannot be the organization's default.

A schedule's type cannot be changed after it's created — deactivate it and create a new one instead. A schedule can be assigned to a specific employee; employees with no assigned schedule follow the organization's default.

This is the foundation for calculating an employee's expected working hours.

Which schedule an employee is assigned now also shows as a read-only field ("Work schedule") on the employee's own profile page, right next to the Manager field. The actual assignment happens in this panel.

**Show project/customer time:** A checkbox controlling whether the whole Project/Customer time feature (tagging logged hours against a project/customer for invoicing) is visible in the organization. Off by default for both new and existing organizations — an Admin must actively turn it on. When turned on, the Tidrapport day editor shows an extra section below the hours field: a "+ Project" button adds a row with a project picker (sourced from the organization's own project/customer register under Settings) and an hours field, each row can be removed again, and a running hint ("Xh tagged of Yh logged") shows how much of that day's logged time is currently tagged to a project — without blocking saving if the numbers don't match, it's a soft visual reminder only. Off (the default), the day editor shows nothing new at all.

**Break-duration rule (minimum break):** Requires a minimum break (in minutes) once a day's reported hours exceed a configured threshold (e.g. at least a 30-minute break after 6 hours worked). The rule is checked against the employee's ASSIGNED work schedule (see Work schedules above) — not against a separate "actual break taken" field, since no such field exists in time reporting today. If the employee has no assigned or organization-default schedule, or has a flexible schedule (which has no break times at all), the rule is skipped entirely for that day — it is never assumed to be "0 minutes break." Two modes are available:
- **Alert:** The day still saves normally, but a warning message is shown to the employee.
- **Restrict:** The day cannot be saved at all until the schedule or the reported hours are changed.

**Max-hours limit:** Sets a cap on reported hours per day and/or per week (at least one of the two is required once the rule is enabled). The per-day cap is checked immediately when a day is saved in Tidrapport. The per-week cap is instead checked when the WHOLE month is submitted (the Submit button) — each calendar week (Monday-Sunday) within the month is summed against the cap at that point. The same two modes (Alert/Restrict) as the break rule above apply here too.

Both of these rules share the same settings surface and permission as the rest of the panel.
