Salary Band

Salary Band

Look up an employee (by name, role or email) to see their salary band’s min, max and median, and where they fall in percentile within that band. Peers without a registered email address are treated as anonymized and excluded from the comparison.

If the Variable pay feature is enabled, an “Include variable pay” checkbox appears at the top of the page (the same checkbox also appears on the Overview, Group Insights, Individual Analysis, Classification table and Benchmark tool). Checking it adds the looked-up employee’s (and the rest of the band’s) this-year bonus/commission on top of base salary before the percentile is computed — otherwise base salary alone is shown, exactly as before.

In pay-mapping mode. A company in Pay mapping only mode finds Salary Band in the Salary Mapping menu, right after Individual Analysis — the band and the person’s position in it help when a pay gap needs a justification. In an ordinary company the page sits under Organization.

How it is calculated. The band consists of every employee with the same salary band and a salary above 0. Min, max and median use their actual monthly pay — there is no full-time conversion here, so a part-timer sits lower in the band than they would full time. Position in the band = (the person’s pay − min) ÷ (max − min) × 100. Example: min SEK 30,000, max SEK 40,000 and a salary of SEK 33,000 give (33,000 − 30,000) ÷ 10,000 × 100 = 30. So it is the position between the lowest and highest pay, not a statistical percentile (the share of colleagues below). If everyone has the same pay, or the person is alone in the band, 50 is shown. Every concept, with one shared worked example, is in the article Concepts and calculations.
