Live AI follow-up (survey-taking)
Live AI follow-up (survey-taking)
During an active survey, a respondent can get a small, contextual prompt directly under a question they just answered — a “live AI follow-up” — inviting them to elaborate. The bubble shows the ✨ (auto_awesome) icon and the text “Would you like to elaborate on your answer?” plus a text field, and appears IMMEDIATELY, before the respondent advances to the next question.
Conditions for the bubble to appear. Both must be true at once:
- The question has been marked “follow-up eligible” by an admin in the survey editor.
- The just-given answer is “borderline/notable” per a configured threshold (for scale questions: at or below the threshold — the same default threshold the existing “low score” comment box already uses, if no explicit threshold is set).
Free-text answers. The bubble today only fires for numeric (scale) answers — sentiment evaluation of free-text answers is explicitly out of scope for this capability so far.
Storage. The follow-up response is stored in the same place as the comment from the ordinary “Add a comment to this question” box (see the anonymous comment follow-up page) — the two are merged if both are filled in for the same question.
Availability. Optional feature, off by default.
