Add employee
Add employee
The “Add employee” button in the toolbar above the table (next to Columns/Filter/Active only) opens a dialog for creating a single employee record — no CSV file required. This is the only way to add a real employee to the system (inviting someone under Settings → Users & Access only creates login access, no employee record — that flow is reserved for admin/support accounts with no HR employee data of their own).
Enter the person’s first name, last name, and email address, plus name and department (required). Clicking “Create” sends the same invitation email the regular invite feature uses, AND creates the employee record in the same step — that combination is exactly what’s otherwise missing (a plain invite only creates login access, no employee record). Their “My profile” page works immediately afterward.
An email address that’s already registered in the organization, or that already has an employee record, is rejected — there’s never a silent overwrite.
New employees are included in the pay-gap analysis by default. The “Include in analysis” field is set to yes whenever an employee is created — through this dialog, through a CSV import, or through the edit view — unless something else is specified. Excluding someone (a CEO whose pay is set by the board, say) has to be done deliberately by unticking the box; it never happens on its own. An employee whose field was never filled in is counted too, rather than quietly falling outside the analysis.
